Electron transfer between an electrode and a tethered molecule.
Schematic of a molecular electron-transfer measurement.

In collaboration with Nicolas Clément at LIMMS, CNRS–University of Tokyo, I study the probability distributions associated with single-electron electrical measurements in DNA-based biosensors developed in Prof. Fujii’s laboratory.

These projects bring together point processes, counting statistics and stochastic models of molecular motion. Applications include noise suppression in nanotransistor biosensors and the analysis of redox-labelled biological systems.
